Oil Summary: Blood Orange a variety of our Sweet Orange Essential Oil. Even though they share the same botanical name and are quite similar they still have some differences. Blood Orange getting it’s name from the beautiful blood red color that the fruit produces. It has a slightly more enticing and tart aroma than Sweet Orange does. Orange oil has for long been recommended for people with poor immunity. HIV/AIDS patients are always advised to consume this type of essential oil since it can work well towards improving their immune system. In 2003, an in-depth research was done whereby Limonene was fed to mice. After a few months, the tests indicated a remarkable increase in white blood cells. The conclusion was that orange essential oil has the capacity to raise your immunity. One of the key benefits of consuming orange essential oil is the reduction of blood pressure. What happens is that contraction of blood vessels is prevented hence allowing slower motion of blood. Studies done in 2014 indicated that orange essential oil carries flavonoid naringin that is considered very effective in terms of antihypertensive and cardio-protective qualities. This is the reason why orange essential oil is considered an ideal cure for heart conditions.
