Oil Summary: Guaiacwood essential oil is derived from the Palo Santo tree (Bulnesia sarmientoi); despite its? name, it does not come from the Guaiacum tree. A semi-solid mass that melts to a full liquid form at around one hundred and thirteen degrees Fahrenheit. It becomes viscous at room temperature and can even be ?scooped? out with a spoon in that form. Because of its semi-solid state, it is recommended to dilute it in a carrier oil, to make it easier to access and use; for example, in a diffuser. A base note in perfumery, it has a sweetly smoky and Earthy aroma with a slight floral undertone. Many aromatherapists consider Guaiacwood when looking for an anti-inflammatory and stress reliever. It is also widely used in perfumery, as a base note, and pairs well with Cistus. Surprisingly, it is one of the safer essential oils on the market, in terms of topical applications. Please, always dilute essential oils and apply a skin test before use. Our Guaiacwood essential oil is derived from Palo-Santo trees that are wild harvested, it does not get more natural than that.
