Oil Summary: Kashmir Lavender grown in the Kashmiri Valley of India, located at the base of the Himalayan mountains, is a pale yellow and medium-weight oil that exhibits a rich, grassy and herbaceous scent. Grown at high altitudes, it is especially high in linalool content, which is considered to be the element responsible for its soothing and calming properties. It is also lower in camphor, which makes it better for sleep, relaxation, anxiety and pain relief, but likely not as effective for antiseptic use. Because of the relatively small growing area, Kashmir lavender is much rarer than other types of lavender essential oil. It has been known to ease the symptoms of motion sickness and morning sickness. When applied directly to the skin, lavender essential oil is known to treat infection. It’s also for burns, minor cuts and abrasions, lavender can prevent infection. Kashmir Lavender known to induce a sense of calm and peacefulness, which can promote a good night’s sleep. It also reduces swelling and minor skin irritation, such as insect bites or sunburn. It can help to ease the pain of headaches when applied to the temples. Kashmir Lavender has been known to ease the symptoms of motion sickness and morning sickness.

Contraindication: Do not use essential oils internally unless you are under the care of a practitioner who is qualified in aromatherapy. Though Lavandula Angustifolia is considered safe for undiluted topical use, those with sensitive skin should test on a small area before applying liberally. Do not use if you are allergic to lavender, and avoid contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. Keep away from babies, children and household pets.
